Professional Experience: Member, engaged primarily in tax planning and compliance. He founded Ervin & Company, CPAs, P.A., in 1978 offering income tax, accounting, and auditing services to a wide range of tax and audit clients. In 1992, Ervin & Company established an office in Harrison. The firm was recognized in 2002 as the largest sole-owned accounting firm in the state of Arkansas and 12th largest overall. In November 2009, Ervin & Company merged with Frost, LLC. Subsequently, Mr. Ervin was named tax partner in the Northwest Arkansas practice. In 1999 and 2000 Ervin & Company was selected as a finalist for the Northwest Arkansas Business of the Year and was named the winner in 2001 by the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal. In addition, Ervin & Company was named by the Arkansas Business Journal as a finalist of their 2001 Arkansas Business of the Year award. He has represented his clients in various courts including the Washington County Circuit/ Chancery Courts of Judges Smith, Lindsey, Mashburn, and Gunn; Benton County Judge Scott, Pulaski County Chancery Court of Judge Clinton-Imber, Federal Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court. He has served numerous times as a court appointed Special Master and Executor.

John is a member of the Accounting Industry Advisory Panel of CCH, Inc., a national income tax law publishing company, and he was recognized by the author of the 1996 Master Accounting Guide, published by CCH, Inc., for his technical contribution to the publication.
